Albano Carrisi was born on May 20, 1943 in Cellini San Marco, Italy. His love for music was passed on to him by his father, who often sang traditional Italian songs after work. As a 16-year-old, he went to Milan and started his stage career there. In 1967, he released his first big hit, “Nel sole”, and met his future wife, Romina Power, an American actress who also accompanied him on stage for years. Together they starred in a musical about the love of two musicians who decide to get married despite the opposition of their families. The plot of the film also reflected the fate of the couple’s love. Although they had many differences and Romina’s family did not support their relationship, they married in July 1970. In the same year, the couple’s daughter, Ylenia, was born.
