Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, it is Wojciech Bojanowski who has been reporting on the events taking place beyond the eastern border of our country in the “Fakty” TVN program. The reporter tries to present the situation honestly, often putting his health and even life at risk.

When Bojanowski entered the stage to receive the award and thank for the distinction, he used the airtime to make a poignant appeal. In his speech, he drew attention to colleagues who died while reporting on the course of the war. — More than 40 journalists died in Ukraine, who also believed that it was worth telling what was happening there, without hiding their emotions.

he said that the profession he does, although dangerous, is also beautiful. In his work, he has a sense of mission, because he knows that one must not remain silent about important matters that determine the fate of the whole world. “It is a beautiful and unique profession. This is a profession that is difficult to do, but my heart tells me that it is necessary to talk about it, he added.

At one point, he also referred to his 3-year-old son, who expects his safe return home every time. Thus, he drew attention to the youngest victims of the war. “I have my son in front of me and I think about this boy who was waiting for me. (…) Half a thousand children died in Ukraine. But the war is going on there. We are talking about difficult matters that you would not like to see, would not like to read, would not like to watch. But I have a strong conviction that it’s worth it – concluded Bojanowski.
