After the second announcement of the film, viewers counting down the days to the premiere discussed what Barbie and Ken will encounter in “reality”. In the trailer, we saw that the doll and her companion leave the candy world to satisfy the curiosity of what lies beyond its borders. Everything seemed to indicate that the direction Greta Gerwing and Noah Baumbach followed when writing the screenplay for the film would remain a secret until July 19 (the date of the world premiere of the film, in Poland the production will be released in cinemas two days later). However, that didn’t quite happen.
If you hate Barbie this movie is for you, if you love her too. A new trailer for the highly anticipated production has hit the web
In the latest trailer of “Barbie” we see not only fragments of Barbie and Ken’s adventures in the familiar gray reality, but we also learn the indirect reasons why Barbie decided to leave her pink homeland. Something begins to change in the doll’s life, tragic scenes haunt her nightmares and wake her up in the middle of the night like Doctor Strange in the second part of his film adventures. Black thoughts also appear in her head, and even considerations about death, which is unthinkable in her land. Is the film trying to reach a commentary on mental crises in this way? It’s getting more and more interesting.
Barbie, concerned about the changes in her way of thinking and perceiving the world, goes to a mysterious figure who, like Morpheus from “The Matrix”, tells her to choose her fate between a pin and… a sandal – a symbol of reality. When the doll and Ken come to our world, they immediately run into trouble. What is extremely interesting, there are actually people who notice the appearance of apparently uninvited guests. Will Ferrell, who plays the CEO of Mattel, the company that produces Barbie dolls, exclaims that the incident could end in disaster. Why? Who are the dolls in danger of? Under what circumstances will they leave reality? Or will they stay there? How will contact with people affect them and vice versa? We’ll find out soon enough. What is certain today, however, is that “Barbie” is really worth waiting for.
