Alberto de Monaco denies that he has relationship problems and asks for privacy

He noted that Princess Charlene is recovering abroad from the aftermath of the operations she has suffered this year.

Albert II of Monaco denied this Thursday the constant rumors that he has relationship problems with his wife Charlene and pointed out that the princess is recovering abroad from the consequences of the operations she has suffered this year.

“He does not suffer from any serious or incurable disease, it is not a relationship problem either. Our partner is not in danger at all, I want to be clear about this. It is about the consequences of all the operations he has suffered in recent months”, indicated in an interview in the weekly Paris Match.

Charlene, 43, a former Olympic swimmer, fell ill in her native South Africa on an official trip in May focused on wildlife conservation and fighting poaching.

Since then, several interventions had to be carried out, some of them under general anesthesia, due to complications in the contracted otorhinolaryngological infection.

The princess returned to Monaco at the beginning of November but, according to her husband, “on her return she was aware that her state of profound fatigue did not allow her to meet her obligations” and that she needed help.

“We decided together, with our close family, that the best thing was that he could rest peacefully, outside Monaco, abroad, for obvious reasons of discretion and comfort,” added the head of state, who trusted that this “therapeutic retreat” allow you to fully recover.

Charlene, she added, needs reassurance: “Everyone needs to understand. I say it kindly: Leave her alone. Leave us alone for a while.”

Alberto II pointed out that his twins, Jaime and Gabriela, six years old, miss their mother but have reacted well and know that they will be able to see her “as soon as possible.”

The little ones are schooled in the palace until the health situation improves. They are accompanied by two boys and two girls from their previous school and teachers from the same educational center, with a classroom set up for them “like a normal class”. (I)
