During their career, the group recorded eight studio albums, which sold in almost half a million copies. The formation, after the release of their debut material “In Light and Fog”, recorded their first significant successes. The artists went on tour with the group Hey, and were nominated for the Fryderyk Award. The culmination of Big Day’s popularity took place in 1997 thanks to the album “Iluminacja”, which included the great hit “On a Hot Summer Day”. The song can still be heard on the air of the largest radio stations to this day.

Not all people who have surely hummed the famous chorus more than once know that the singers of Big Day are married today. In an interview with Dzien Dobry TVN, they said that they met by chance – Marcin saw Ania at the bus stop and sparked. It was also by chance that “On a hot summer day” was included on the Big Day album, the song was the last one on the album.

The authors of the hit “On a Hot Summer Day” have been playing continuously for 30 years. What’s up with the Big Day group?

“It was the last song on the album and it was just a filler. This song is a joke” – said Anna Zalewska-Ciurapińska. Her husband Marcin Ciurapiński admitted that it was only supposed to be a bonus to the album. None of them expected that the whole of Poland would love the hit.

Currently, drummer Paweł Pająk and guitarist Piotr Szymański cooperate with Marcin and Anna. In 2022, the group celebrated its 30th anniversary, and at the beginning of April this year, the musicians announced summer concerts. The group will soon play in Milicz, Zbąszyń and Miasteczko Śląskie. In addition, the band informed fans via their website that they had finished work on their ninth studio album.
