Euskaraz irakurri: Elkar Fundazioak Ikastolen Elkarteari emango dio Ibilbideari Saria
Ikastolen Elkartea will receive the Ibilbidea Elkar Saria prize, granted by the Elkartea Foundation, “for its long journey and great contribution in the process of making Euskal Herria Basque-speaking”.
“In the 1960s, at a time when Basque was cornered and prohibited, some people began to build schools to learn in Basque. The movement spread from town to town and a wide network of ikastolas, which formed Ikastolen Elkartea. It is a national institution, which covers the seven territories of Euskal Herria legally structured as a European group of economic interest”, they have pointed out from the foundation.
In addition, the Elkar Foundation has highlighted the relationship between the publishing house itself and Ikastolen Elkartea, “in which each of the institutions, based on their experience and through their resources, have offered the entire educational community didactic material created in the Basque Country and in Euskera, which has the Basque curriculum as a reference”
Proiektuari Elkar Saria
For its part, the project “Kultur politiken azterketa” from Eusko Ikaskuntza will receive the Proiektuari Elkar Saria award.
It is a project that aims to analyze and learn more about “cultural policies that are being developed in minority cultures”.
Both winners will receive their prizes on May 25, at the Elkar headquarters in Aduna.
