One of the security guards working in a branch of Kredyt Bank devised a plan on how to get rich quickly. Krzysztof M. together with two friends Grzegorz S. and Marek R. decided to steal money from him, carefully planning his jump. On the morning of March 3, they put the assumptions into practice. First, they killed the security guard who was guarding the bank that day, and hid his body in a drain. Moments later, three cashiers showed up at work. When they went to the vault, it turned out that there is a total of about PLN 105,000 in it. This was not what the thieves were counting on. their nerves. Although they assured the cashiers that nothing would happen to them, they shot them down. Afterwards, the attackers took the money and fled to Łochów, where they came from. They divided the loot, and then presented themselves for the military oath of a colleague. All to secure an alibi. In the meantime, they also burned the clothes they were wearing during the robbery.
When the man came to the branch of Kredyt Bank to pick up his girlfriend, he was concerned that the door was locked. Emergency services were called to the scene, which quickly made a gruesome discovery. Although they secured 1,024 traces there and interviewed over 500 people, it was not so easy for them to identify the perpetrators. However, the greatest attention was paid to the employees of the tank. Although the branch’s security guard had an alibi, he and his colleagues were repeatedly interrogated. Investigators eventually tracked down a witness who saw the men get rid of their clothes. When they questioned one of the men again, he finally confessed what had happened.
The accused appeared in court. They heard the verdicts
– During the site inspection and interrogation, the suspects talked about the event as if they were reporting a crime film – said Małgorzata Dukiewicz, quoted by . During the trial, the defendants described in detail the events of March 3, 2001. They also admitted what they did with the stolen money. One of them bought a car, the other , and the third paid for his fiancée’s studio. They ate and drank the rest. – The cashiers did not resist, they asked for their lives, Grzegorz Szelest with full cynicism promised that they would survive. It is hard to imagine a greater cruelty in inflicting death – said the prosecutor in his closing speech. For their actions, the men received the maximum penalty, which is life imprisonment. Marek R. will be able to apply for parole after 25 years, Krzysztof M. after 35 years, and Grzegorz S. after 40 years from the beginning of serving the sentence. The girlfriend of one of the men and her father, who helped to cover their tracks and store the stolen goods, also heard the sentence.
