On Thursday 18 May, a total of 120 students from the Gil Gilbert Educational Unit visited the facilities of the Stedelijk Museum. as part of their school activities commemorating International Museum Day, which is celebrated to commemorate the role of this non-profit organization.
Carmen Hernández, representative of the educational entity, said that this visit was planned to promote to their students the importance of the place that guards the history of Guayaquil.

“They are excited because they are going to learn a little more about the history of the city. We trust that the new mayor’s office will carry out educational projects that bring young people closer to culture,” said the teacher.
Director of Management and Cultural Promotion, Beatriz Gil, indicated that the museum receives 225 people every day. “It is a significant number of visits. We are going to increase this figure during the administration of Mayor Aquiles Alvarez. We want to reach parents, rectors, who have the power to share with children and young people, so that they learn to love their roots and their city through artistic exhibitions”.
The public can enjoy guided tours, works of art, storytelling days and the exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum Natural History, which has more than 100 objects from various branches of the natural sciences, from mineralogy, fossils, shells, insects, birds, mammals and reptiles.
while in the Julio Jaramillo Museum of Popular Music will take place on Saturday, May 20 from 11:00 am, the presentation of the students of the second level of the Center for Artistic Specialization.
The opening hours of the Stedelijk Museum are from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and popular music from 10 am to 5 pm.
