The merciless persecution they suffered prince harry and Meghan Markle by at least 12 paparazzi as they exit a public event in New York on the night of Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
The Duchess of Sussex received the Ms Foundation’s Women of Vision Award, in recognition of her “global advocacy for empowerment and advocacy on behalf of women and girls,” notes the Mirror.
Meghan Markle walks by her villa in Montecito: the Duchess of Sussex reappears without Prince Harry and in a simple and very distinctive look, after missing the coronation of King Charles III.
It was at 10:00 p.m., at the exit of the Ziegfeld Theater, in the center of Manhattan, together with the Duke and her mother Doria Ragland, when a dozen paparazzi followed them until after midnight.
The incident was confirmed by a spokesman for the duke and duchess, who said the relentless car chase was “almost catastrophic” and described the paparazzi as very aggressive.
The incident resulted in “multiple near misses involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”
What exile was like
The Mirror reports that Prince Harry (38) and Meghan (41) together with Doria Regland (66) left the cinema in their SUV with a police escort. However, the paparazzi followed them on motorcycles, cars and electric scooters, so they turned towards the 19th precinct of the New York Police Department on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
They were then transferred to a yellow taxi, but the paparazzi who were on scooters and motorcycles still managed to follow them. Namely, during the chase, the taxi got stuck in traffic.
“At that moment, several paparazzi who were following them started taking pictures of them,” writes the British newspaper.

Did Prince Harry revive the memory of Diana’s tragedy?
Prince Harry must have had a terrible case already seen after what happened Tuesday night, TMZ reviews. The reason for this is that the events are similar to the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana, when he was 12 years old.
Lady Di was killed in a car accident in August 1997, when she was 36, with paparazzi chasing her car in Paris.
Regarding the recent incident involving a member of the royal family, the Mirror notes that the couple are “extremely upset and shocked”, while Meghan’s mother was “terrified” by the ordeal.
“Harry and Meghan believe the chase could have been fatal, since six vehicles were involved with unidentified people who were driving recklessly and endangering the car and everyone around them,” adds the British newspaper.
