Andrzej Łapicki was born in 1924 in Latvia. He did not spend his childhood there. His family quickly moved to Warsaw, where the actor’s father got a job as a lecturer of Roman law at the University of Warsaw. The future star worked on an acting workshop at the State Institute of Theater Arts. There were also beautiful women who liked the actor with reciprocity. Łapicki came close to death as a young boy, he fought in the uprising. He was then caught by the Germans, but he managed to get out of their hands. This experience did not curb his professional ambitions and he soon gained immense popularity in Poland.
Andrzej Łapicki – from the acting stage to the Sejm
Die-hard fans of the actor certainly remember such films with his participation as “Diary of Mrs. Hanka”, “Lalka”, “Panny z Wilka”, “Pan Tadeusz” or the series where Łapicki played in 2010-2012. The actor’s talent has been appreciated many times. He has received a lot of decorations and awards that his colleagues in the industry dreamed of. The love for acting began in 1945, when Łapicki performed on the stage of the Polish Army Theater in Łódź. His debut is Stanisław Wyspiański, directed by Jacek Woszczowicz. However, his spectacular success brought him an acting role in “The Whore with Principles”, where the actor played Fred. Playing this character, however, contributed to Łapicki’s later casting in such roles as an FBI agent or a class enemy. From this image, the actor began to be perceived as a lover of the Polish scene. Interestingly, acting was not the only interest of the actor. Next to it stood politics, as a result of which the actor landed in the Sejm. He was a Member of Parliament in the years 1989-1991. In addition, Łapicki fulfilled himself as a director, lecturer, dean, rector and director. The last position concerned the Polish Theater in Warsaw. What was the actor’s private life like?
Loved by all women in Poland. Including by Krystyna Janda
she confessed on her:
We all loved him. Drama school students, actresses, all women in Poland. (…) He was a symbol of worldliness, elegance, tact, and personal freedom.
The valued actress met Łapicki for the first time at the Theater School. She was close to fainting – such an impression was made on her by the lover of the Polish scene. Janda described the actor as an intelligent, sensitive, perverse and bitter man. Łapicki, who worked as a professor, had an impact on whether the future actress would be admitted to the school. Later, the actor became a director with whom Janda worked closely.
As for our mutual relations, when he became my director, Mr. Andrzej Łapicki began to treat me as a friend, with an intimidating attention and kindness. I could propose solutions, say what I think, what I like and what I don’t. It was a great honor and a great honor for me and a great school of elegant, reliable theater, the goal of which is respect for the audience and the pleasure of playing for them.

The actor impressed with his sense of humor and the fact that he had a profession in his hands. He knew the answer to every question and shared his experience with those who had little. He was a great guide for young talents. Janda admitted that there was no “other such actor”. Łapicki found himself on stage like a fish out of water. He wasn’t even sweating. He won the hearts of many women with his charm.
Who took over first? Łapicki first chose Chrząszczewska
Zofia Chrząszczewska was the actor’s first wife. The future couple met in the Albatros club in Warsaw. The lover of the Polish scene saw a beautiful widow and mother of one-year-old Grześ, whom the actor loved as his son. In 1947, the lovers got married, and the little boy was given the name of the actor. Łapicki’s wife took care of the house on a daily basis. She became the mother of the actor’s first child – Zuzanna. The beloved lover of the Polish scene spoke as follows:
The wife lived only my life, she did not work. Before the war it was called, it was even written in the passport, “by the husband”. (…) She was the harbor master. And I sometimes came with battered sides, after storms, but this port was always there.
These words come from the book First, Keep Your Distance. The love of the spouses bloomed on 54 square meters. The couple found peace in Mokotów. They didn’t need a bigger place, or so the actor claimed. The couple’s friends included Kalina Jędrusik and Stanisław Dygat, Tadeusz Konwicki and his beloved Danuta, and Edward Dziewoński. They devoted their free time to them. The actor’s first marriage was not without betrayals, which Chrząszczewska began to tolerate. Łapicki got permission from her to go out to pubs at night. However, he was never asked by his wife about the purpose of these wanderings and the time of return home. The Łapicki surname has been associated with many celebrities. Including the one that made him feel. The actors played in the movie “Really yesterday.” In her biography, the actress mentioned:
I must have been 22 years old when I fell madly in love with a man older than me. He had a good life, a wife and two children. It took nearly four years. I knew our love had no future.
Łapicki was famous not only for his talent, but also for his infidelity. Zuzanna Łapicka sold him a solution to insomnia. She recommended that he count his mistresses with blonde hair before going to bed. The actor replied shortly: “I wouldn’t fall asleep until morning.” Beloved Zofia learned to live with her cheating husband, but in a dangerous situation, when there was a risk of Łapicki leaving, the wife began to intervene. She reported to the Security Service on one of his mistresses. Then she plunged Elżbieta Czyżewska. The actor’s wife saw his mistress as dangerous. Zofia Chrząszczewska, later Łapicka, left in 2005.
A 60-year age difference is not a problem. At least for Łapicki
Later, the actor found a common language with Kamila Mścichowska. This relationship was the loudest due to the age difference between the lovers, which was 60 years. Łapicki became acquainted with the theatrologist in 2008. She gave him a “kick to life”. They were connected by work, and more precisely by the monthly “Teatr”. Seven months of relationship were enough for the couple to get married in 2009. Łapicki said so about this policy decision:

All of Poland knows my last suicidal step, that is, marrying a young girl. (…) I said: complain to yourselves, and I will marry, because I do not agree to old age and what you will do to me. (…) After three months of looking deeply into each other’s eyes, we were a couple. I consciously escaped old age by making my life with a woman.
The lovers addressed each other affectionately. She was a “little wife”, and he – “Andriusz”. The actor’s beloved began to make a career quickly thanks to her husband’s recognition. From the very beginning, she aroused the attention of the media. Mścichowska also fell in love with the theatre. She was supposed to neglect the sick actor because of her fame. Łapicki had a problem with his kidneys. The actor regularly went on dialysis, and what was his beloved doing at that time? Informant of the fact that:
She left in the morning, came back in the evening, delighted in the career she had started thanks to his name. He had to call a taxi to go to dialysis.
Could the second wife of the lover of the Polish scene count on a rich life after the actor’s departure? Nothing more wrong. Łapicki passed away on July 21, 2012 in a dream. At the age of 88, he was buried in Warsaw’s Powązki Cemetery. What happened to the second wife of the actor? The media was loud about the will of the actor, who supposedly left nothing to his beloved. Łapicka was supposed to feel wronged because of this. After the death of her husband, the actor’s beloved left show business – it is in vain to look for her new photos from the walls. Łapicka decided to pursue a PhD at the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies at the University of Warsaw. She has always had a knack for writing, which is why you can find her works online. She decided to run a blog zteatru.pl, where you can find information about art. He also conducts interviews with actors.
