Ryszard Hanin was probably born on August 30, 1919 in Lviv as Szarlota Hahn. She has been giving this date all her life, but it is possible that it is not true. According to the author of the monograph, the actress could have been two years older. Initially, she wanted to become a nurse. She received a solid education, went to singing, dancing and skating lessons. Already in junior high school, she took part in amateur performances, and after graduating from high school, she went to study romance in Paris. When in 1939 she returned to her hometown for holidays, the war found her.

Ryszard Hanin made her stage debut in 1944. She lectured at the Warsaw PWST

On March 5, 1940, she married the poet Leon Pasternak, with whom she soon moved to the USSR. There she became a co-founder and the theater of the 1st Dywizji im. Tadeusz Kosciuszko. She made her stage debut in 1944 with the role of Aniela in “Ślubach Maiden”, later she performed at the Polish Army Theater in Łódź, and when she passed the extramural acting exam, she moved to Warsaw. She played, among others in the Polish Theater or the Theater of the House of the Polish Army. From 1951 until her death, she was a lecturer at the PWST in Warsaw, and she also passed the extramural directing exam. After separating from her husband, she became involved with actor Jan Matyjaszkiewicz, who then left her for another woman.
