In November 2022 the journalist Mary Lourdes Aguilar, better known as marmoset, she experienced a mother’s greatest fear: losing her child. At only nine months old, her little Matthew Monteverde had to have surgery because of a complex congenital heart defects, diagnosed at 20 weeks gestation.

This first procedure did not go as expected, after a few days he began to show complications, “it started to swell”, and he had to be admitted to an operating room for the second time. “At that point you feel like your life is slipping away, because while your faith is very strong, it’s hard to hear that your nine-month-old son needs another surgery in 48 hours.” confesses Aguilar in an interview with EL UNIVERSO.
