“I will visit the same city for the second time, the same restaurant. The owners have changed, but has the approach to business changed? The menu? My elaborated dishes?” – announced one of the latest episodes of the 26th series of “Kitchen Revolutions” which, after reading Sylwia and Tomek’s letter, went to their rescue. The couple took up running the place, which after the first “Kitchen Revolutions” in 2016 was named Grande Cozze – they did it at the request of the previous owner of the restaurant, Mariusz. “After all, help to the family is not denied” – reports the broadcaster of the program.
The first such case in the history of “Kitchen Revolutions”
Before they started running a restaurant, Sylwia worked in trade and Mariusz was a construction worker. Although they had no experience in gastronomy, it was hard to refuse help from a relative who guaranteed them that they would work together. When, after a month, it was time to pay the bills, he simply withdrew from the business, and Sylwia and Tomek were left with running the restaurant alone. After some time, it turned out that the situation was difficult, and not only because they had problems finding new staff.
Business was doing poorly, and the new owners quickly spent all their savings to save the restaurant. They also exhausted the possibility of taking more loans and discovered some secrets from the past that they had no idea about.
When Magda Gessler arrived, it turned out that no one who remembered the previous revolution was working in the restaurant. However, the previous chef, Renata, decided to return. Gessler took up the challenge and developed a new rescue plan. The restaurant received a new name – trattoria Buon Posto – and an Italian menu based on lemons. Effects? “The food here is really delicious, come and see for yourself” – praises the restaurateur.
