The woman first put the fabric folded into cubes in the drum of the washing machine, and then set the program in accordance with the recommendations attached to the product label. Then she poured white fabric gel, fabric softener, and half a cup of spirit vinegar into the dispenser. The liquid, in addition to whitening the fabric, will also prevent it from electrifying later.

What to soak curtains in? Try these homemade mixes

Before washing the curtains in order to whiten the material, it is worth soaking them in a properly prepared solution at home. Do you have these products in the first aid kit and in the kitchen?

  1. Aspirin — Dissolve 5 aspirin tablets in 5 liters of water and put them inside the curtain. Soak for a few hours and then wash them in the washing machine as usual.
  2. Baking soda — Dissolve 500 g of baking soda in 10 liters of water. Wet the curtains and leave them in the solution for several hours. Then wash the fabric in the washing machine and it will be brightened and soft to the touch.
  3. Lemon juice – Pour lemon juice into the water and soak the curtains. After a few hours, wash the fabric in the washing machine. The curtains will be brighter, and if they smelled like cigarettes, the unpleasant smell will disappear.
