Euskaraz irakurri: Javier Bardem, Zinemaldiko lehen protagonist

The San Sebastián Film Festival will celebrate its 71st edition between September 22 and 30, and we already know that the main poster of the event will carry the image of Javier Bardem and that the actor, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will receive one of the Donostia awards of this edition. It will be the first day of Zinemaldia, September 22, during the opening ceremony.

Bardem won the Silver Shell for best actor in 1994, thanks to his work in the films “Días contados”, by San Sebastian director Imanol Uribe, and “El detective y la muerte”; he made his first visit to the Zinemaldia a year earlier, when he presented golden eggs (Bigas Luna) in the Official Section.

In his successful career, Javier Bardem (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1969) has received more than a hundred awards, including the Oscar, the Golden Globe and the BAFTA for No Country for Old Men (No Country for Old Men, 2007), the Goyas for their performances in days numbered (1994), word of mouth (nineteen ninety five), Mondays in the sun (2002), deep sea (2004), beautiful (2010) and the good pattern (2021), in addition to the best documentary film as a producer of Children of the clouds, the last colony (2012): won the Best Actor Award at Cannes (beautiful2010) and the Volpi Cup in Venice (Before Night Falls / Before Night Falls2000 and deep sea2004).

Since 2018, Zinemaldia has chosen a figure from contemporary cinema to illustrate its poster. Isabelle Huppert, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Sigourney Weaver and Juliette Binoche have preceded Bardem as the official image, which this year has been produced by the Dimension advertising agency based on two photographs taken by photographer Nico Bustos.
