Natalia Safran is a Polish singer and actress who lives permanently in the USA. The artist has participation in the cinema hit “Aquaman”, in which she played the Queen of Fishermen, and now viewers can watch her episode in the latest Marvel hit. James Gunn entrusted her in the third part of “Guardians of the Galaxy” a role that required long hours of make-up.

Natalia Safran was born in 1970 in Poznań, and in “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” she played a character called Controller. It is a creature resembling a rodent mutated with a human, which required the make-up department to create a special suit and a separate latex mask with whiskers. The effects of painstaking work are impressive – the whole thing looks disturbingly realistic. Polka appears on the screen when the main characters get to a specific space station – it resembles a living organism, and the Controller is connected to a console that controls a dense network of pipes and wires.

Natalia Safran spent almost four hours in the make-up room every day before shooting. The whole process started at four in the morning – the actress had to be ready for work as early as eight in the morning. As he admits, the latex mask and costume were very heavy. As her words Interia:

Custom-made teeth were cast for me, and hand-painted lenses were prepared for my eyes that covered the entire surface of the eye. It was really hard to sit still, let alone move around in a very heavy suit with dozens of pipes and lines. Contacts were drying out my eyes and dentures were impossibly pressing against my gums, so this role was physically the hardest I’ve ever played.

Safran, however, emphasizes that it was worth the trouble. The more so that this is not the first James Gunn film she has worked on. Earlier, they met on the set of the highly successful production “Suicide Squad: The Suicide Squad” from the Marvel-competing DC universe. Then the Polish woman played m. opposite Margot Robbie and portrayed a character named Kaleidoscope, who actually has skin strewn with rainbow mosaic.

It is worth noting that Natalia Safran has a lot of superhero productions on her account – we can see her in, among others in “Shazam! Wrath of the Gods” (a small but cute episode with the participation of cats), the series “Pacemaker” (Ms. Goff), “Shazam! (Ms. Sivana uncredited) or “Aquaman” with Jason Momoa in the lead role – Polish woman she plays Queen Rina there.

But how did it all come about? Natalia Safran is the daughter of Jacek Jaroszyk, director of Estrada Poznańska. As a teenager, she took part in the Miss Wielkopolski beauty contest in the 80s, which she won. Later, she began working as a model and went to Paris for this purpose. The next stop was Los Angeles – there she met the American film producer Peter Safran, with whom she married.

She made her Hollywood debut in 2001 with an episode in the romantic comedy “Say Yes” starring Jennifer Lopez – Natalia appears as a sobbing bride. Later, she played in such films as Haunted Bride, Flypaper, The Hours with Paul Walker (the actor even appears in the video for her song “All I Feel Is You”, which was included in the official soundtrack of the production), “Annabelle coming home” (again as a bride) or “Incarnation”.

In addition, Natalia Safran is developing a musical career – her single “Hey You” appeared in the soundtrack of the films “For What Sins” with Renne Zellweger and “I Hate Valentine’s Day”. The song “Say Goodbye” was featured on the soundtrack of the movie “Anna”, and “The One for Me” will be heard in the movie “Best Night Ever”. What’s more, the club remix of the song “All I Feel Is You” in 2015 hit the 19th place on the US Billboard charts. Natalia Safran, like her husband, is also involved in film production and worked in this way, among others. on “Valley of the Gods” with John Mlacovich, “Mina” and “The Secret of the Atticus Institute”.
