We all cried while reading this book, there will be a different ending in the film. Lampo the dog is wagging from the trailer

Do you remember the dog Lampo from the book “About the dog who rode the train”? The animal will return in a film adaptation of a moving book that traumatized many young readers. The creators of the cinematic version of the story of the quadruped decided that they would introduce significant changes to the story, which would certainly cause controversy.

“About the dog who rode the train” is one of the most memorable school reading for most kids who had contact with it. This is the story of the faithful quadruped Lampo, which teaches the youngest to respect animals and shows how much love they have for their owners. At the same time, Roman Pisarski’s novel is extremely traumatic. The death of a dog who heroically saves human lives and dies under the wheels of a train is so unexpected and tragic that it may not be the best way to familiarize the youngest readers with death.

Of course, this does not mean that such difficult topics should not be discussed with children. However, there are much less traumatizing books that will allow a child to understand the consequences of the passage of time, incurable diseases or serious accidents in a more delicate way. Among them, it is worth mentioning, for example, the moving novel by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt “Oscar and the Lady in Pink” or “The Sand Wolf” with stories by the Swedish writer Asa Lind.

The creators of the adaptation of the novel about the brave dog Lampo, as you can see, did not want to smuggle traumatic content into a colorful, sunny, family production and decided to take a controversial step. The film, which will be released in cinemas on August 18, will provide viewers with unforgettable emotions, translating into an instructive lesson about friendship, empathy and even ecology. The adventures of “a dog as faithful as Lassie, brave as Bella and funny as Beethoven, who from the time he was a puppy felt drawn to great adventure and touched millions of hearts with his rail journeys” are to end with a happy ending. The change of the tragic ending is also announced by the trailer of the film, full of smiles, beautiful frames and family warmth emanating from the screen.

This does not mean, however, that the film will lack difficult topics. The protagonist of the production, Zosia, is ill, and her ailments make the girl’s everyday life full of limitations. The dog Lampo is supposed to bring her as much joy as possible and distract her from the injustice of the world. Soon the pet will turn out to be not only an ideal comforter, but also a great companion and an important member of Zosia’s family.

The cast of the highly anticipated film includes: Mateusz Damięcki, Monika Pikuła, Adam Woronowicz and Liliana Zajbert. Behind the camera stood Magdalena Nieć (“Detective Bruno”). The creators emphasize that during the shooting, their priority was the comfort of the animals working on the set. The film’s Swiss Shepherds (three dogs alternate in the film) had conditions worthy of the greatest artists. On the set, the dog stars were led by a group of experienced trainers from Hungary, headed by Zoltan Horkai, who can talk not only with dogs, but also with wolves, deer and bears. He has already collaborated with Polish artists, e.g. on the set of the series “Wataha” and the hit “Kobiety mafii”. He has also participated in many Hollywood productions, including: “Profession: Spy”, “Hercules”, “Eragon” or “Hellboy”.
