When “Janosik” reigned on Polish television, many women sighed at the thought of Marek Perepeczka playing the main role. His heart, however, belonged to Agnieszka Fitkau for several years. who started using a double surname shortly after her marriage. Their relationship flourished, but they never decided to enlarge the family.

As Agnieszka Fitkau-Perepeczko recalls, she saw Marek for the first time in the dean’s office of the Warsaw Theater Academy. The young man immediately impressed her. When it turned out that the woman did not get into college, she was afraid that she had lost “the boy she liked so much” forever. It turned out that she also caught his eye. They quickly stayed and got married in 1966.

Soon after, Perepeczko’s career began to gain momentum. He appeared in such productions as “Popioły” by Andrzej Wajda, the screening of “Pan Wołodyjowski” or the already cult “Janosik”. His wife did not want to be known solely because of her husband’s popularity. She performed on the stage of the theater herself, but rarely received engagements on television or in film. – I’ve never been a dog for roles, from the beginning I bet on Marek’s career. I thought that he would play, and I would go to premieres, talk, discuss – actress.

In 1981, Agnieszka emigrated to Australia, where she worked as a model, founded a photo agency, and also appeared in many TV series. Despite her successes, she missed her husband. Marek Perepeczko joined her, but after a few years he decided to return to the country. The separation did not negatively affect their relationship. “Just because we didn’t live together didn’t mean we weren’t close. On the contrary, we loved each other very much, we were friends and we could count on each other in every situation – admitted Agnieszka Fitkau-Perepeczko.

After returning to the country, Marek Perepeczko did not fare well. Polish cinema seemed to forget about the cult actor. He got fewer and fewer roles, began to cut himself off from friends, and his health deteriorated. The actor died in 2005. Despite being together for over 40 years, they never decided to have a child. The actress revealed the reason only after her husband’s death. As it turned out, they often thought about expanding the family, but they kept postponing this decision until later. They led a colorful and entertaining social life until it turned out that they missed the right moment for parenthood. This year, Agnieszka Fitkau-Perepeczko turned 81. As she admits, she still feels young and draws handfuls of life.
