Stanisława Ryster studied law at the University of Warsaw and planned to develop her career in this direction. However, when she went to the casting for the weather program on TVP, her vision of the future changed dramatically. After a successful debut on the silver screen, she became one of the main presenters.
She was the face of Telewizja Polska. Her show was taken off the air without explanation
In 1966, Ryster started working for Telewizja Polska. Initially, she successfully ran numerous entertainment and educational programs for young people. It was only after 9 years of cooperation that she received an offer to become “Wielka Gra”. Although she was afraid that she would not be able to cope with the new role, it soon turned out that she was made for it. She not only acted on the screen, but also took care of the script, questions, selection of experts and appropriate participants for the episodes.
The new energy and innovative ideas were quickly appreciated by the viewers. For the next 30 years, the show enjoyed great popularity, breaking viewership records. When suddenly it was decided to finally resign from , everyone was shocked. “None of the bosses thought it necessary to talk to me. No letter, no one said: “This is our decision”. So that I can also say two words. And I fully deserved both the awards and the title of TV star – Ryster bitterly in an interview for “Wysokie Obcasy”.

After the program was lifted from the air, she withdrew from the media and only occasionally appeared at public events. In an interview with Polska The Times, she confessed that she had been offered several times to appear in such productions as “Familiada” or “I love you Poland”, but she always refused. She felt disgusted by the fact that no one offered her remuneration for participating in the recordings. “It’s always going to be an honor for me.” If I was 20 years old and wanted to be a celebrity, to stand on the walls, maybe I would run – she said, not hiding her indignation. Recently, she returned with memories of the end of cooperation with Telewizja Polska. She confessed that she still resents the station for how she was treated years ago. — They did a dirty job to me, because they kept secret until the last moment that they were taking “The Great Game” off the air. I found out about it in the morning paper. It was the height of rudeness. After they took my program off, my foot never set foot there again. And she won’t stand anymore – she said firmly in “Fakt”.
Currently, Stanisława Ryster is 81 years old. On a daily basis, the presenter does not complain about the lack of classes and enjoys her retirement. He likes to meet friends and often hosts his daughter and two grandchildren. However, time alone is also valuable. Then he willingly indulges in his passions, i.e. cooking and watching nature programs. When asked if she was considering returning to silver screens, she admitted that there was no room for it in her life. “I’m never going back to TV.” Nothing, it’s over. I have closed the chapter called television – said the presenter with conviction.
