Robert Motyka, co-founder of the Paranienormalni cabaret and co-host of the morning broadcast on Radio Zet, talked to Dorota Wellman on “Dzień Dobry TVN”. He told, among others about the difficult end of friendship with Igor Kwiatkowski, with whom he performed on stage for years, his father’s cancer, as well as the accident of his son Wiktor during the pandemic. The life-threatening situation in which Wiktor Motyka found himself occurred shortly after the family was faced with the diagnosis of the cabaret artist’s father and a difficult professional time for him, when he was out of work due to lockdowns.
Robert Motyka from the Paranienormalni cabaret about his son’s accident: We get a call from his girlfriend that there was an accident that he flew out
– A moment later it turns out that it is May 2 and at 5:00 we get a call that our son falls from the fifth floor. We get a call from his girlfriend that there was an accident that he flew out – Robert Motyka recalled in an interview with a journalist. – Moments later we are in the car, we are going to the hospital. On the way, I stop the car three times to throw up. We are in the middle of a pandemic, so of course they do not let us into the hospital, only my wife enters the ER – he said.
The situation was very serious. – I’m standing behind the glass, looking at it, and I see that the doctor is shaking his head. My wife faints, someone picks her up. Later, he says that they will not save him, that they are trying to do something. I go into this ICU, I look at my son who is nothing like my kid – continued the cabaret actor. The state in which he and his wife, with whom they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in May this year, he described as “total numbness”.
Luckily, my son made it out of the accident
Fortunately, they could count on support at that difficult time. It’s amazing how many good people there are in the world. They come to our house, help us, recommend doctors. This is the moment when you don’t even cry anymore, you just howl, you make some strange noises. Later, when these people appeared, I got an additional shot that I had to do something – recalled Motyka.
Although initially there was no sign of it, it turned out that the doctors managed to help Wiktor. After waking up, the boy spent two months in the hospital. – And finally he comes out of the hospital, I see him coming out on crutches and smiling at me. He is emaciated, but he has this twinkle in his eye – he told about the moment when the teenager left the hospital. Motyka wrote about the conversation with Dorota Wellman on Instagram: “Thank you for a moment of emotion and absolute honesty.”
