The countdown to the coronation of Carlos III, Isabella II’s successor, reaches zero, and as the details of the event become known, the stories of those who will participate are revealed.

One of those who will attend and play an important role will be Simon Abney-Hastings, an Australian aristocrat who may question the legitimacy of Carlos to be the heir to the throne.

This is the farmer who defended his right to be the “King’s Champion” online at the coronation of Carlos III.

Last April, the Office of Coronation Claims confirmed 13 colleagues and organizations whose applications it had accepted and shown to have a historical and hereditary right to attend the ceremony. One of them was Abney-Hastings, 49, who is the Earl of Loudoun.

The roles they will have are carrying specific elements.

In accordance with The TelegraphAbout 20 years ago, medieval historian Michael Jones discovered that there was a document in Rouen Cathedral that would show that Edward IV was not the legitimate heir to the throne since Richard, Duke of York, could not have been his father since he was miles away from his wife during the weeks of possible conception.

That being said, the line of succession would include George, Duke of Clarence, whose most direct descendant is the Earl of Loudoun.

This has been rejected by various historians. (AND)
