Next year will be the 100th anniversary of the birth of Eduardo Chillidaand the Donostia City Hall will celebrate this important date in a very special way: it will inaugurate an artistic route called Chillida Bidea, which will unite the Peine del Viento with squeal leku. Through this symbolic union, cyclists and pedestrians will be able to enjoy the different works of art by Chillida and many other prominent artists.

The Donostia City Council will soon present the initiative, through an act that will announce the details of it. As EITB Media has learned, there will be a 6.2-kilometer route, with stops in various areas of the city where we can enjoy the different artistic and architectural works. A clear initiative to publicize and understand the work of Chillida.

During the tour, citizens will be able to find the works of the following artists: José Ramón Anda (Zeharki), Joaquín Montero (Zubimusu Park), Francisco López (Zubimusu Fountain), Joaquín Montero (Plaza Oñati), Jose Zugasti (Development de la Forma), Andrés Nagel (Plaza Europa), Gaz Arquitectos (Musikene Building), JAAM Arquitectos (Carlos Santamaría Library) and Maite Apeztegia (Chamber of Commerce).

In addition, today an exhibition by Chillida was presented at the Austrian Kunsthalle Krems museum, also in homage to the artist. The exhibition called “Gravitation” has 80 different works. All of them composed of linear drawings, collages related to the surface, embossed or even hung on paper. This representation has been carried out with the collaboration of the sculptor’s family and the Eduardo Chillida museum.
