Women have their role in the Church because the Church is a woman. This is how Pope Francis answered a girl’s question about what prevents women from being ministers within the organization of the Catholic Church.
The Argentinian Pope answered a series of questions from a group of young people from around the world in a new special production Star+which premiered on the platform streaming last April 5.
Pope Francis has bronchitis, but is responding well to treatment, although he will not celebrate some Holy Week rituals
During the special, which lasts 80 minutes, the Pope highlighted the role that, according to the Catholic Church, women should have within the religious organization. The non-inclusion of women in ministerial positions, he said, is due to the “theological constitution”, and that women are in charge of the line of “motherhood”, due to “women’s own vocation”, and not because of sexism.
The girl who interrogated him, he continued, showed “macho attachment” because “she has a complex about the fact that a woman cannot be a priest,” said the Pope, who also told her not to be angry. Within the Church, the Pope said, women are put first, but “where they should be”.

In addition to this question, the highest representative of the Catholic Church talked to a selected group of young people, between 20 and 25 years old, about controversial topics such as sexual abuse of children by church officials, the immigration situation in Europe, abortion, and the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in the organization.
Regarding LGBTQ+ issues, he pointed out that “the Church should not judge anyone”, adding that elements of the organization that spread hate speech are infiltrators. “The Church must not lose its universal meaning that includes everyone,” he said.
What is a day in the life of Pope Francis, who is celebrating ten years as head of the Catholic Church?
Regarding abortion, he said that the problem should be looked at from a scientific perspective. “The problem of abortion must be looked at scientifically and more coldly, since every book on embryology teaches us that a month after conception, the DNA is already outlined and that all the organs are drawn, so they are not a bunch of cells that have gathered, but human life. The ethical question is: Is it legal to eliminate human life to solve a problem? Is it legal to hire an assassin to solve this problem?” he said.
