These seniors can retire faster. A mere application to ZUS is not enough

Some seniors may take early retirement. It is enough that they meet the appropriate conditions, and the Social Insurance Institution will pay them the benefit they receive every month. Who can apply for faster drawing of pension? We suggest.

The right to early retirement is granted to those who meet the relevant conditions. This possibility is available, among others, to persons born in the years 1949-1968, who worked in special conditions or in a special capacity. Anyone who performs creative or artistic activity and those who take care of children who require constant care can also apply for it. What should be done to receive the benefit when the last option applies to us?

Early retirement due to childcare. Who can apply for it?

You do not have to reach a certain age to receive an early childcare pension. However, several conditions must be met in order to apply for the benefit.

  • You must be born after December 31, 1948.
  • You cannot be a member of an open pension fund (or submit an application for transferring funds to state budget revenues)
  • You must take care of a child requiring constant care until December 31, 1998;
  • Contributory and non-contributory periods must be proven (must be 20 years for seniors and 25 years for seniors);
  • It is necessary to take care of a child who is incapable of work and independent existence (regardless of the reason) or a child who is considered completely incapable of work due to specific diseases covered by the regulations;
  • You must prove that you were unable to work or had to stop working because of your child’s health;
  • You must prove that the last unemployment insurance was paid before 1 January 1999.

People who may take advantage of early retirement due to caring for a child requiring constant care are also those who:

  • They had a social security contribution paid before 1 January 1999 by a social welfare center;
  • on January 1, 1999, are at least 45 years old;
  • They have a contributory and non-contributory insurance period of 20 years for women and 25 years for men.

Meeting the right conditions is not everything. You have to submit an application

If a senior citizen meets the required conditions, he or she may submit appropriate documentation for the office to consider the application. What should I prepare?

Pension application;

  • Information on contributory and non-contributory periods and all documents confirming periods of work, non-agricultural activity, military service, unemployment benefit, parental leave or higher education;
  • Certificate or certificate on the health of the child;
  • Documents confirming your salary.

It is worth remembering, however, that the application should be submitted before reaching the statutory retirement age in order to obtain the benefit. The right to download it will then be established one month after the submission of the required documents.
