A few days ago, an article appeared on the Facebook profile of Wysokie Obcasy about a family that rejects the Catholic faith or any other typical religion. However, it cannot be said that she is unspiritual. It celebrates important moments in ways that are perfectly aligned with its life, its members’ values, and what they feel is right and appropriate. That’s what her rituals are for. It is strongly connected with nature, so its elements are the basis for experiencing the most beautiful moments together.
Ritual under the oak instead of communion
This year, the heroes’ daughter is at an age when other children take communion. However, she doesn’t feel like it, so her parents – to celebrate this period in her life – decided to organize a ritual for her. It is based on Slavic traditions: the girl will go to her favorite oak and have her hair braided there, and the parents will read folk tales and texts addressed to their daughter. You can find the entire article below:
“They replace one crap with another”
The difference in beliefs made the post about these heroes literally boil. The commentators were divided into camps. Many people were very critical of the family and its lifestyle. The comments are mostly mocking, mocking. Among other things, we read that:
We’ve gone back more than 1,000 years and we’re back to paganism. In a moment, monuments of Swaróg and Światowid will be erected
Down with backwardness, witchcraft and superstition! We are modern and we worship Swarog!
So they replace one piece of crap with another.
Religious hunger is quite amusing when it strikes such freethinkers.
“Beautiful, Peaceful Life”
However, the vast majority of comments are praiseworthy. Commenters expressed support for the parents’ decision. Some simply decided that everyone should live as they see fit. Others were tempted to make broader statements, also explaining this kind of spirituality in a deeper way. Others did not fail to refer to the Catholic theme. In particular, to the scandals involving the clergy. As we read:
Poles are a Slavic nation that practiced such rituals long before Christianity. As Slavs, we have always been connected with nature, with nature, we worshiped sacred oaks, groves, and above all the Sun (Dadźbóg “god giving”, son of Swarog), which was forged and hung in the firmament of the sky by the god Swaróg. For the Slavs, all nature became an altar.
Very good. It’s high time to chase the black mafia and their lies and hypocrisy out of the country.
A beautiful, peaceful life without the suffering of Catholic priests and perverted priests.
The issue of faith is always an intense topic for discussion in Poland. There will always be supporters and opponents of the fact that someone else has a different idea for their own life. It’s good to talk, but it’s worth respecting other people’s decisions and speaking – even critically – with respect.
