“Crazy prawn” is the fifth single from the latest release. It turns out that the song has a long and interesting history, and it was written 10 years ago by Włodzimierz Korcz and Artur Andrus. Initially, the creators created the song with Zbigniew Wodecki in mind, who actually performed the composition for the first time in the program “Thank God it’s weekend”.

The text for the song was written by Artur Andrus to the slogan thrown during the aforementioned program by the audience. According to the formula of the show, the creator had a week to create a full-fledged song from random wording. He finished the job just three days before the episode was taped. Andrus sent an e-mail to Włodzimierz Korcz, who, to put it mildly, was not charmed. Immediately after receiving the message, he called Andrus asking if the lyricist had “gone mad” and what should he do with this creation now.
In the end, however, Korcz was convinced and wrote music to the text, arranged it and added his own characteristic “La ri ra, la ri go”. In 2015, Andrus recorded a song for his album “Cyniczne daughters of Zurich” and in the same year the song appeared in a changed version during the benefit of Alicja Majewska and Włodzimierz Korcz. It was then performed by Zbigniew Wodecki, who sang: “Here, where the bold chamois walks, Defending the native land, A Slavic Crazy Shrimp is said to be operating in Toruń. It is here that the saint will meet a sinner over a mug of beer, And the place is called U Alicji i Włodek. Alicja is a coalition of Talent and man, And charm for the whole nation, Enough for a couple of decades. And when something nice happens to Włodek, When he has already collected the case, He grabs the piano in his hands, At the buffet, he plays a song about the poet Jean Baptist Lariron: La ri rą, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira, La Rira! In 2022, the topic of “Crazy Shrimp” returned when Alicja Majewska was choosing songs for the album. Artur Andrus in his book “Connoisseurs of the next day” also recalled the creation of the piece with amusement. He emphasized that Korcz wanted Majewska to sing the absurd text as seriously as possible. “And when I heard the effect, I thought that it was as if Edith Piaf sang something written by a songwriter who had just gone crazy. And the recording had to take place, there was no way out” – Andrus describes the situation.
This year, the Gala of Entertainment Music and Jazz, where we will get to know the winners of the Fryderyk 2023, will take place on April 22 in Arena Gliwice. Stars such as will perform on the festival stage Mrozu, T.Love, Behemoth, Sara James, Doda, Brodka, Feel or Julia Wieniawa. Alicja Majewska was nominated in the Album of the Year category: Poetic and Literary Song. The singer competes with the album “Free hearts” by Kwiat Jabłoni, “Sara” by Aga Zaryan, “I start with love” by Natalia Przybysz and “sanah sings Poezyje” by sanah.
