Adam Andrzej Ostrowski, known under the pseudonym OSTR, is a rapper from Łódź who has been active since the second half of the 1990s. He has 20 albums to his credit and is also a laureate of five Fryderyk awards. Despite this, he rarely appears in the media and is reluctant to give interviews.
OSTR bluntly about Kuba Wojewódzki and his program
Recently, he agreed to take part in a podcast, in which the host announced that the rapper was in first place in the recently created list of the best rappers in Poland who did not appear in Kuba Wojewódzki’s program or podcast. OSTR decided to tell what is the reason. First of all, he does not like the style of running the program and the lack of influence of the guest on the editing of the episode with his participation:
Because there are many things that make us different. I don’t mock my guests who come to my house with a joke. And I wouldn’t want anyone to mock me either if I come to him.
However, it turned out that there are more reasons for reluctance. The rapper emphasized that, above all, other values were professed in his family home:
I come from a house that was strictly Solidarity and libertarian, Cuba unfortunately has a slightly more socialist past. I couldn’t do that to my parents because my family members had a problem with his dad and his occupation, they were even condemned by the person.
During the times of the People’s Republic of Poland, Wojewódzki’s father was a prosecutor of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party. The journalist’s parents are no longer alive, and he has never spoken publicly about their activities in the previous regime. There is also not much information about their careers online.
The rapper also said that he did not like the convention of how the guest is treated in the Wojewódzki programs. “This is the convention of the program where you come to pump the host’s ego and take him as the main star, it has always been like this and you are not the star” – summed up OSTR He could not exactly indicate how many times he was invited to Kuba Wojewódzki’s program, but admitted that there were such proposals and he was even offered a salary for taking part in a talk show.
