Víctor Erice will premiere “Cerrar los ojos” at the Cannes Film Festival

the basque director victor erice (Caranza, 1940) will premiere his new film, “Cerrar los ojos” in the Premiere section of the Cannes Film Festival, his first feature film since his previous feature film, “El sol del quince”, was released in 1992.
With a script by Erice himself and Michel Gaztambide, the film, in which EITB participates, tells the story of a disappearance, which revolves around the themes of identity and memory. “Cerrar los ojos” has a cast made up of Manolo Solo, along with Jose Coronado, Ana Torrent, María León, Petra Martínez, Soledad Villamil, Mario Pardo, Elena Miquel, and José María Pou, among others.
New films by Wes Anderson, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Wim Wenders, Aki Kaurismaki, Ken Loach, Todd Haynes and Marco Bellochio, among others, will compete in the Official Section of the festival. Out of competition, there will be “Killers of the flower moon” by Martin Scorsese and the new Indiana Jones movie.
