Harry Potter comes to the small screen. HBO Max and the writer of the saga, JK Rowling, have announced this Wednesday that the adventures of the famous magician will become a TV series and promise a “faithful adaptation” of the books.
The platform has made the announcement through its social networks, with a small ‘teaser’ with a wink for the ‘potterheads’: “Here’s your Hogwarts letter”. A video of just a few seconds in which the floating candles of the Great Hall of the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry appear and in which the iconic soundtrack of the films can be heard.

For her part, the author of the saga has shared through her website that the new HBO Max streaming service, called Max, has announced the new series together with Warner Bros. Discovery, in which Rowling herself will executive produce. “This series will be a faithful and authentic adaptation of the books and will be available on Max in the US and globally once produced,” he says.
As detailed by the Rowling’s statementthe adventures of the most famous magician of all time will become a decade-long series, with each season dedicated to one of the seven booksand will be “packed with fantastic detail, beloved characters, and dramatic locations that fans have loved for more than 25 years.”
Furthermore, it confirms that will have a new cast, so in principle we will not see Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson playing Harry, Ron and Hermione again. However, it promises “a new cast that will lead a new generation of fans” alongside the hit original movies.
