The actor admitted that despite the passage of time, he still had not seen one of the scenes from the films in its entirety. He’s too scared of what’s happening on the screen.

One of the most terrifying creatures from the Harry Potter film universe was Aragog, a giant acromantula spider, which is feared not only by people suffering from arachnophobia. The creature in the Potter universe could talk and clatter its pincers in nervousness. It was the spider that was accused of killing Moaning Myrtle. He was saved from death by Hagrid, who took the creature to the Forbidden Forest, and even found him a wife – Mosag, with whom the long-legged creature could start a family.

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley met Aragog in the second part of the film series “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. Hagrid sent the boys to a giant spider to confirm that Rubeus was innocent and that he had not opened the Chamber of Secrets. He believed that Aragog would not harm the children, but Aragog did not protest when the boys wanted to eat his many-legged children.

Interestingly, Rubert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, suffers from arachnophobia just like his character. The actor in the documentary about the creation of the Harry Potter universe admitted that he never saw the whole scene with Aragog because he felt too much anxiety. He revealed that he was unable to look at the screen while watching the movie because he found the scene “absolutely terrifying”.

The fear that you see on Ron’s face in the movie was very much Rupert Grint’s real emotion. The actor recalled what the filmmakers created a huge puppet of Aragog looked like, which was brought to life without CGI. Chris Columbs, the director of the second part of the series, said that the giant spider was the only creature from the books that absolutely everyone was terrified of. In the movies, Aragog died and Hagrid gave him a lavish funeral. In the real world, the prop is available to view in London on tours organized by Warner Bros. in the footsteps of Harry Potter.
