After eight years he had to leave “Our new home” for health reasons. He says he was ashamed to leave the house

The work and adventure with Artur Witkowski’s program had to end due to facial nerve palsy suffered by the construction worker. Then he wrote on social media that it started with a cold, and then there was otitis and facial nerve palsy, which “was dragging on for half a year”. He consoled the fans that it was almost OK, but unfortunately he had to give up participation in Polsat’s “Our New Home”.

Recently, Witkowski gave an interview to the WP women’s website, in which some more details. He admitted that he was in a bad mental state, and today – although the disease has receded by about 80 percent, it is still not in the state before the paralysis. – At first I was ashamed to leave the house, I did not want to talk to people, I covered my face with a mask. My family, friends and fans helped me. They were very worried about me, asked how I was feeling. Many people said they went through the same thing. I owe them a lot. They lifted my spirits. So was my wife who motivated me. Thanks to this, I came out of the hole. It’s great now,” he said.

While working on the “Our New Home” program, Witkowski supervised the construction work of families who had previously lived in difficult and often dangerous conditions. For 10 years, the creators of the program, led by Katarzyna Dowbor, have been redeveloping homes in need of help. I loved the joy of these families. Often I was not able to see their reactions live, but Kasia told us everything. But on the other hand, health and family are the most important – recalls Witkowski in an interview.

In turn, in one of the last interviews, she hosts construction managers who play the most important role in renovating the house. – If it wasn’t for the fact that they know when, how, where and what materials to order, we wouldn’t be able to figure it all out. It often happens that our construction bosses work together with their boys, and sometimes they just have to shout because someone has to maintain discipline – Dowbor told about the people who have been working with her on the set since 2013.

Now Witkowski runs his own business, but together with the interior designer Maciej Pertkiewicz, also known from “Our New Home”, they also have a YouTube channel. Of course, devoted to renovations, but to a lesser extent. They advise, for example, how to renovate a paving stone or a table or refresh a damaged floor on the balcony. The last video they posted was three months ago.
