“Stranger Things” will stay with us longer than you think. Netflix orders a sequel

The series “Stranger Things” has four seasons and is one of the most popular Netflix productions. In some time, the fifth season will appear on the platform, which is to be the last, but the creators do not intend to stop there. The streaming giant has just ordered the first continuation of the series.

The Duffer brothers, who are the creators of Stranger Things, launched their own production company Upside Down Pictures in July 2022. Its employees are to create subsequent productions that will be set in the universe of the hit series. The first sequel has just been ordered by Netflix.

What do we know about the “Stranger Things” sequel?

Details about the new series are kept secret. It is only known that it will be an animated series, and Eric Robles, who previously worked on the Nickelodeon animated series “Fanboy and Chum Chum” or “Glitch Techs”, will be responsible for it. The Duffer Brothers are set to act as executive producers. In their official statement we can read:

We’ve always dreamed of a Stranger Things animated series that had the spirit of the Saturday morning cartoons we loved growing up, and it’s very exciting to have that dream come true. We couldn’t be more delighted with what Eric Robles and his team have created – the scripts and art are amazing and we can’t wait to share it with you! The adventure continues…

At the end of last year, unofficial information circulated around the world according to which the first animated continuation of “Stranger Things” would be a Japanese series with the working title “Stranger Things Tokyo”. The series would center around two twins who live in the suburbs of Tokyo and love video games. The action would take place in the 1980s, and the heroes would lack characters known from the feature series. However, it is not certain that the announced continuation will be this project.
