The Complete Orphan Supplement is additional financial support for persons who are entitled to the family allowance and have lost both parents. What’s more, those who have lost their mother and the father is unknown can also count on him. It is not dependent on age or the amount of other benefits received, which means that not only seniors will receive it. How much is?

How much is the supplement for a complete orphan? The amount is subject to indexation

The amount of the full orphan supplement is fixed for everyone. However, it is worth knowing that, like , it is subject to annual indexation. This means that on March 1, its amount changed, more precisely from PLN 481.97 to PLN 481.97 PLN 553.30. Its payment is handled by the Social Insurance Institution. Importantly, it can be collected by all persons who are entitled to a given survivor’s pension.

What do I have to do to get the Complete Orphan’s Supplement? Apply with one document

The allowance is granted upon request. This means that if you meet the criteria and want to receive it, you should submit to the Social Insurance Institution:

• application for an allowance for a complete orphan,
• documents confirming the date of death of the parents

or

• a document stating the date of the mother’s death together with a birth certificate, which show that the father is unknown.

You can bring the documents in person, by proxy or send them by post. ZUS has 30 days to issue a decision on granting the supplement.
