His songs were popular with representatives of every generation. On April 5, 2023, the singer sailed on his last “beautiful cruise”. On the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of Krzysztof Krawczyk’s death, let’s recall his career path.
He has been involved with music since childhood. All of Poland sang his songs
was born on September 8, 1946 in Katowice. He came from an artistic family, as his parents were connected with the opera. He started studying at a music school at the age of 7 and continued it until his final exams. At that time he studied piano, guitar and singing. Unfortunately, his father’s death forced him to take up work. In order to reconcile his duties with his education, he enrolled in a night school, where he successfully passed his final exams.
In 1963, he made his debut as a member and co-founder of the Troubadours band. The young people were incredibly successful, winning numerous awards and distinctions. After 10 years of cooperation, Krawczyk decided to start a solo career. With the album “You were my hope”, he made his debut on the phonographic market, quickly gaining popularity. In the 1980s, he moved overseas for a while, where he continued his career. After returning to Poland, he collaborated with with Bohdan Smoleń and Goran Bregovic. His biggest ones are “Steamboat”, “How was your day”, “What the world gave us”, “I wanted to be”, “It’s hard” or “Because you are”. As a solo artist, he released as many as 129 albums, gaining the name of a Stakhanovite on the music market. He gave concerts not only in Poland, but also in many European countries. In the foreign media, he was often compared to Elvis Presley or Tom Jones.

Privately, Krzysztof Krawczyk was married three times. In 1969, he married his school friend, Grażyna Adamus. However, soon after he had an affair with Halina Żytkowiak. When he received a divorce, in 1973 the couple stood on the wedding carpet. This coincided with the singer’s departure from the band, so many speculated that it was his beloved who persuaded him to develop a solo career. The fruit of this relationship was a son, Krzysztof Igor. However, after 11 years, the couple decided to separate.
In 1982, during his stay in the United States, Krawczyk met Ewa Trelko. They immediately caught each other’s eye and after 4 years of relationship, they decided to formalize their relationship. Although they seemed happy, they divorced in 2002. However, they never said what was the reason for it, because soon after the announcement of separation, they swore allegiance to each other again.
On March 23, 2021, Krzysztof Krawczyk fans that he was hospitalized due to COVID-19 infection. On April 3, the musician announced that he was returning home and recovering. Even more shocking was the information that appeared in the media two days later. On April 5, Krawczyk’s death was announced by his manager Andrzej Kosmala on Facebook.
