He was 18 when he played the role of Marcus Belby in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. Although he signed a contract for participation in the next production in the series, he did not manage to re-enter the set. The young actor Robert Knox died tragically defending his younger brother.

Although he made his screen debut as a child, it was only a role in one of the adventure films that allowed him to appear in show business. Robert Knox had a chance to make a huge career. He even signed a contract for further productions, but the 18-year-old’s professional plans were interrupted by a tragic death at the hands of a cutthroat.

He made his screen debut at the age of 11. The world of film was open to him

Robert Knox was born on August 21, 1989 in Kent, UK. He made his debut in front of the camera at the age of 11. He played episodic roles in such television productions as “The Bill”, “After You’ve Gone” and “Tonight With Trevor McDonald”. He made his big screen debut in 2004 in the adventure film “King Arthur” directed by Antoine Fuqua. When he landed the role of Hogwarts student Marcus Belby in The Half-Blood Prince, his career dreams finally had a chance to come true. When the shooting for the production was completed, he even signed a contract to participate in the next installment of the wizarding adventures. However, he was not allowed not only to enter the set, but also to wait for his first major cinema premiere.

The tragic events took place on May 24, 2008. Robert Knox decided to celebrate the end of filming for . Together with his younger brother and a group of friends, he went to one of the London bars. At some point, a fight broke out between the customers and security threw the most aggressive of the guests out of the premises. A few hours later, the man reappeared, but this time accompanied by colleagues and … kitchen knives.

Enraged, he threw himself at the people in the room, accusing them of stealing the phone. “Jamie, Rob’s brother, came up to us and said some guy was threatening him with a knife. I wanted to keep Rob, but he pushed me away, furious that “someone was threatening his little brother.” He was angry, but he never got into trouble. I think he just wanted to protect his brother. He left the bar, walked up to this guy, and he stabbed him four times – the actor’s friend. Although the teenager was immediately helped and transported to the hospital, his life could not be saved. He died when he was only 19 years old.

Later that night, police arrested the 21-year-old attacker, Karl Bishop. The man was taken into custody and later held accountable for his actions in front of the justice system. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder, with the possibility of parole after 20 years. During the trial, he showed no remorse, nor did he apologize or express sympathy for the victim’s relatives.
