With the aim of promoting the country’s culture and literature, the Guayaquil International Book Fair calls the IX Short novel competition Miguel Donoso Pareja, this will take place in the context of the literary meeting, which will be held this year from 20 to 24 September.

Guayaquil International Book Fair confirms its ninth edition for September

The competition is aimed at Ecuadorian or foreign writers who live in the country and are of legal age. Authors can participate with an unpublished novel, free themewith numbered pages and expansion between 120 and 150 sheets (no veneer) written on one and a half spaces in Arial 12 type.

“In an express letter, the entrant must declare that the work does not participate in other competitions or has been partially published in print or electronic media, nor will it be published”, indicate their base.

Each author can only enter with one novel, while writers who have won in previous editions cannot re-enter.

The winner receives one one-time award of $10,000. The foundation states that “publication of the award-winning novel remains in the hands of the author and interested publishers.”

The works will be received until June 25, 2023 at the Guayaquil Convention Center (Av. de las Américas 406) and should be addressed to Marcela Ron-Congresos. The presentation format is as follows: one original and three copies, ringed and signed with a pseudonym. In a separate sealed envelope, the author’s personal data (name, home and electronic address, telephone numbers, city) and a photocopy of the identity card are noted. “If any of these data are missing, participation in the novel will be cancelled,” indicate the bases.
