Jolanta Lothe was born in 1942 in Vilnius. Father was shot because of his Jewish descent. After his death, the family moved to Sopot. Her mother was an actress, but, as she herself recalled, she did not inherit her passion for acting. Initially, she wanted to become a doctor and apply to study medicine. – It wasn’t until just before my final exams in Gdańsk that I took part in a recitation competition. I took second place in the country and thought about the theater school – in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita”. In 1966 she graduated from PWST in Warsaw. The beginnings of her career are primarily performances on theater stages, although she made her debut as a ten-year-old.

It was her husband who cast her in theatrical plays, in which she could show off her acting skills. – He was the only director who saw me as an actress – she admitted in one of the interviews. The 1970s were exceptionally intense for Jolanta Lothe. She played in the films “Beczka Amontillado”, “”, “There is no rose without fire”, “Brunet in the evening”, she also appeared in the series “Droga”, “Polish roads”, “Far from the highway”. In the late 1970s, she unexpectedly disappeared from the screens.
The reason was my husband’s illness. He was diagnosed with melanoma. Despite surgery, his condition did not improve. – I was crazy, I brought some people. Andrzej Makowiecki took him to the hospital, where he was supposed to be cured by a miracle-worker physicist, but he did not heal – after many years. In August 1982, Kajzar was hospitalized. He died on August 21, and Jolanta kept vigil by his bed all the time.
In 2007, she returned to the screens. She appeared as Teresa Struzik in the series “Colors of happiness”
She returned to acting only in 2007. The producers persuaded her to accept the role for a long time, and finally she agreed to play in the series “Colors of Happiness”. Teresa Struzik was a role written especially for her. She also appeared in “For Good and for Bad” or “Prawie Agaty”. On April 1, 2022, the Association of Polish Stage Artists announced the death of the actress. She was 79 years old.
