New data published by the Central Statistical Office. Table of further life expectancy 2023
Every year, the Central Statistical Office publishes tables showing the average life expectancy of Polish women and men. On this basis, the Social Insurance Institution calculates the amount of old-age pension that the senior will receive for the rest of his life. The new calculations are to apply from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, but this information is not very favorable for seniors.
According to published data, the average life expectancy has increased by about 14 months. This is why future retirees may receive a benefit lower by up to 6%. – We live longer after the age of 60, so the amount of benefits will be lower – admits Dr. Antoni Kolek from the Pension Institute in an interview with . It is worth noting, however, that the new plates do not apply to people who have already retired.
Are you planning to retire? Choose the right moment so as not to lose the benefit
The new data, although optimistic, mean that seniors may lose out on them. According to Fakt.pl, pensions calculated after April 1, 2023 will be less favorable. If they had been awarded in March, it would have been even higher by PLN 200 to PLN 400, depending on the individual situation. This year, it can be a total loss of almost PLN 2,000 to over PLN 3,000. People who will reach retirement age when the new tables come into force should refrain from deciding to collect . – It’s best to wait until July and then apply for a pension. Firstly, the employee receives a salary that is higher than the benefit for three more months. Secondly, in the middle of the year, the annual valorisation of contributions collected in ZUS will be carried out. It will amount to approx. 15 percent. – admits Dr. Tomasz in an interview with Fakt.pl.
