“Night Agent” is an action thriller, which is the screen adaptation of Matthew Quirk’s book, and the creation of this adaptation is the responsibility of Shane Ryan (“The Shield”). The main character is Peter Sutherland, who ends up in the White House as a minor FBI agent. His task is to sit at night by the phone, which – as he was told – never rings. However, when the bell finally rings, Sutherland will be drawn into a conspiracy whose tentacles extend all the way to the Oval Office. There seems to be a “mole” in the White House.
Gabriel Basso is a night agent. He started as a child
Information that Gabriel Basso got a role in the filming of “Night Agent”, appeared in the media in November 2021. Not much was written about the series itself before the premiere – the promotion was not too big, but after the premiere it turned out that we are dealing with a really good production. Fortunately, Basso no longer has to worry about what he talked to Movieweb before releasing the first 10 episodes:
My biggest concern was being responsible for the show. If I screw this up, the production won’t be good. If I don’t take it seriously, there won’t be a great effect. So it was a responsibility, but I also felt really motivated to get on with it.
Basso consulted with a real FBI agent to prepare for the role of Sutherland, and he says he also used the help of his friends in the uniformed services. He knew how to handle a gun before, but admitted that the way officers acted was something new to him. Born on December 11, 1994, Basso is now on the lips of more and more people. Few people know that he is a child actor – he started his career in the series “Word na R” with Laura Linney in the lead role. The title aired from 2010 to 2013. Perhaps, like me, you also saw him in the good sci-fi film “Super 8”, behind which was the creator of “Lost” JJ Abrams. However, it would be difficult at first glance to connect Basso in these two productions – today he is an adult, he played there as a 16-year-old.

You can also associate him with the movie “Kings of Summer” from 2013, Meg Ryan’s directorial debut “Ithaca”, where he appeared alongside Tom Hanks, and on Netflix you will certainly find the movie “Elegy for Bidoków” three years ago, where the actor appeared alongside Glen Close and Amy Adams. Interestingly, both sisters of Louis Gabriel Basso III (because that’s his real name) are actresses, so all three of them were homeschooled. He and his older sister Alexandria appeared in “High School Musical Kids”. Gabriel also got smaller roles as a child, for example in “iCarly”, “Ghost Town” or the sitcom “The Middle”.
“Night Agent”. The cast of the Netflix series with the Oscar-nominated actress
In “Night Agent” the cast is mainly female – in the foreground next to Gabriel Basso, for example, a New Zealand actress often appears Lucian Buchanan in the role of Rose Larkin. She has Scottish and Tongan roots, was born in 1993, graduated from the Department of Drama and Psychology at the University of Auckland. He has, among others, the main role in “New Legends of the Monkey King”, she could also be seen, for example, in the comedy-drama “Filthy Rich” or the series “The Blue Rose” or “Gastronomy” (“Sweet Tooth”). For the role in “Night Agent”, which is her first American production, the actress had to practice an American accent – unlike her partner on the set, who was forced to work especially on her physical form.

The cast of “Night Agent” also includes m.in. Hong Chauwhich can be viewed from in the multi-award-nominated Whale starring Brendan Fraser. The actress was nominated for an Oscar for this role. She attracted the attention of the film world in 2017 thanks to the sci-fi comedy “Pomienienie”, in which she starred, among others. alongside Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz and Jason Sudeikis. It was also possible to see in the HBO series “Watchmen: Watchmen” or in “Homecoming” by Amzon. The parents of the American actress are immigrants from Vietnam who lived for some time in a refugee camp in Thailand after they left their homeland in the late 1970s. It was in the camp that Hong Chau was born on July 25, 1979. When they fled Vietnam by boat with the actress’s two older brothers, her mother was six months pregnant with her. This trip almost ended tragically for the family – the father was shot and almost bled to death on the boat. Later, the Vietnamese Catholic Church financed their return from the camp to the United States. It wasn’t until Hong Chau’s school that she learned English. Years later, she graduated from Boston University – first she studied creative writing, but then changed her major to film.

In “Night Agent” the actress plays Diane Farr and appears in a gray wig. The actress admitted in an interview with Netflix that this is a very important element of this character and her idea, to which she convinced the creator of the series. – There’s a certain seriousness about Farr. I had to do something for the character.
March 23 is the premiere date of the series “Night Agent”. The cast probably did not expect such interest, but indeed both reviewers and viewers like the series. You can also see in it Canadian actress Sarah Desjardins as Maddie Redfield, Canadian-Israeli actress Eve Harlow as Ellen and Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington. DB Woodside, known to fans of “Lucifer”, and Enrique Murciano, known to fans of the crime series “Without a trace”, also appear on the screen.
