Easter requires many of us to climb to the heights of culinary skills, especially if we do not spend much time in the kitchen on a daily basis. Unlike Christmas, however, we do not have to stick to a list of strictly defined dishes, or, most importantly, make sure that each of them is on our table. What to prepare for Easter?

What to prepare for Easter – Easter breakfast

The traditional one should consist of eggs (stuffed or classic – hard-boiled), bread, sausage and white borscht or sour rye soup. Whether we serve soup at breakfast, however, depends largely on family custom. If, on the other hand, we like it sweet, we can also serve Passover and Christmas cakes – baby, mazurkas or poppy seed cakes.

There are also dishes on the Easter table. Of course, only when we eat meat dishes. In many homes, baked white sausage with mustard or mayonnaise and classic cold cuts boards are served. In addition to Christmas cakes, we can also serve pascha, a traditional Easter dessert, which is made of cottage cheese, butter, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla and nuts and dried fruit. It should be prepared the day before and left in the fridge overnight. Pascha is most often served in the form of a pyramid, which makes it an original dish on a traditional holiday table.
