“Every year the same Easter show and an annoying family. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps”

– For years I have the impression that for some people Easter ceased to be a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, and became another opportunity to dress up, ask annoying questions, and of course carefully observe who he was in church and what he was wearing… As if that was the most important thing, writes Celina.

Easter is just around the corner, and just thinking about it makes me crave for these holidays and meetings with my family. Every year I observe the same cheap flair, first during the ¶wieconki, and then at the Easter Sunday mass, who, supposedly according to tradition, gather in the church to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord. However, very often it is not on prayer and self-reflection that they focus the most attention.

For years I have had the impression that for some people Easter ceased to be a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, and became another opportunity to dress up, ask annoying questions, and of course carefully observe who was in the church and what they were wearing… As if that was the most important thing . There are non-believers who openly admit that they treat both Christmas and Easter as an opportunity to meet loved ones and celebrate time together. Although I am a believer, I respect such a sincere approach much more than the false behavior of “believing and practicing” people I know.

Recently, I was talking to a friend from school who runs a hairdressing and beauty salon in my hometown and she told me that what is happening to the records in the last days before Christmas is beyond comprehension. It is reportedly worse only before November 11. Well, yes, because just like the windows must be washed “for Jesus”, the hairstyle and nails must be done…

Plus, those family gatherings at the table. For me, the worst is meeting my father’s sister. She’s one of those aunts who never bites her tongue and always throws out texts like “you must have put on weight”, “it’s time to settle down because you’re not getting any younger”, “at this age you should already have two children”. .. Usually she came to us on Boxing Day, but this year we are supposed to come to her. I think I’ll stay at my parents’ house, or I’ll be back sooner. Somehow I don’t feel like listening to her talk, and I finally have the courage to stand up for myself.

Celina.
