As a 17-year-old girl, she decided to earn extra money as a model and that’s where her career began. Right out of high school, she starred opposite Gene Hackman in The Poseidon Adventure. Pamela Sue Martin gained popularity in the United States even before “Dynasty” thanks to her roles in the series “The Nancy Drew Mysteries” and “The Hardy Boys Mysteries”. When in the second season the producers decided to combine these two titles into one and thus reduce the role of the actress, she said: I’m leaving. And it wasn’t the last time she decided to say goodbye to the series when it was popular – she did the same with “Dynasty”, albeit for a different reason.
Thousands of viewers loved Fallon from “Dynasty”, but Pamela Sue Martin was not comfortable with fame
When “Dynasty” debuted in 1981 on the American station ABC, it was not a hit at all. The first season had mediocre viewership, but everything changed with the appearance of Alexis Carrington Colby in the second season – played by Joan Collins. In total, the series aired for eight years, during which 220 episodes were created.
Pamela Sue Martin appeared in the first four series. The high recognition that this role brought to the actress weighed heavily on her. In 2015, in an interview with “Morning Guest List”:
I remember becoming extremely famous at that time and feeling a bit uncomfortable about it.

In 1984, she shocked viewers with her decision to say goodbye to the production. Speculation about the cause was inevitable. Some people claimed that the actress was disappointed with the script of the soap opera, she wanted to act in more ambitious productions. Others maintained that the desire to create a family with a third husband, whom she met while working on “Dynasty”, prevailed. The actress married Chilean millionaire Manuel Rojas, 20 years her senior, between the second and third series, she was reportedly thinking about children. That’s why some even made unsubstantiated theories that the producers wanted to force the actress to have an abortion when she became pregnant and that’s why she said she was ending Fallon.
Unfortunately, this marriage lasted only until 1986. Pamela Sue Martin became a mother only in the 90s, the father of her son Nicholas is her fourth husband Bruce Allen. After another divorce, the actress talks about Nicholas as the most important man in her life.
In Dynasty, that man was undoubtedly Jeff Colby, played by John James. In 2015, on the Hallmark Channel show, the actor complimented his partner on the set:
The chemistry that comes on screen is not something you can ‘create’, I think a lot of the best scenes I’ve ever done to this day are with Pam.
Today, the actress is 70 years old and although she still works in the entertainment industry, she definitely prefers to pursue herself away from the cameras. She took up directing in the theater and writing. A few years ago, she published a fictionalized memoir, and is also involved in environmental protection activities, e.g. working with Greenpeace and PETA.
And in “Dynasty” Fallon died, only to reappear on the screen in 1985. This time, however, she had the face of British actress Emma Samms.
