Gawliñski would like a joint concert of stars without graduation. “One of the best artistic concerts”

There are many artists in the Polish show business whose lack of a high school diploma did not prevent them from making a career. He did not pass the maturity exam, among others the frontman of the Wilki band, Robert Gawliński. Years ago, the singer came up with the idea that creators in a similar situation would join forces and perform at a joint event.

The leader of Wolves, who today also develops a solo career, was a defiant rebel in his youth, mainly for the love of music. It was for this reason that he did not take the final exam – at the time when others were preparing for the final exam, his songs debuted on the radio “Trójka”.

Young angry

Gawliński made his first steps in the music industry as a teenager. He joined the first band – the group Gniew – when he was 16 years old. As he himself recalls, it was a period of strong rebellion for him. He aimed his anger at the authorities that did not allow him to live like his foreign peers, including attend concerts of your favorite bands.

I joined Gniew when I was 16. I was furious with the commune then. I bought “Bravo”, looked at the pictures and was pissed that no one here looks like that. I wanted to go to a Bee Gees or Led Zeppelin concert, but I couldn’t. I thought it was the fault of the rulers in Poland. So I was totally critical of the authorities. represented by the militia, all my youth I was at war with them.

– he recalled in an interview for the portal Woman.pl. Controversy was also aroused by his appearance – a penchant for leather coats or dyed blond hair, for which he was twice sued in juvenile court.

I also rebelled against school. Rebellion and anarchy filled me. Back then, old aviator jackets were worn. And I liked trench coats and leather coats. My hair was dyed white, and sometimes I got scolded for my appearance. The militia did not like them either.

he explained in the same interview.

“One of the best artistic concerts”

Initially, the reason for choosing a musical path was trivial – it was about girls. Later, however, it turned out that the profession of a musician is a full-time job, which forced the artist to interrupt his education. He finished it as a 19-year-old with a secondary education. He graduated from high school with good grades, but did not take the matura exam.

When Madame’s songs were on the Three list, it was time for my final exams, and I didn’t have time for it because I was still on the road.

he said. Years later, however, he admitted that he did not regret the decision that gave him freedom – not only the artistic one.

I don’t feel broken, but happy and free! And I’m glad I didn’t listen to my dad who said, “I know you love to create. Why don’t you start building bridges? Would you like to go to college?”

Kobiecie.pl said. After the breakup, Madame performed together with the groups Made in Poland and Złotousty i Anio³y, which he founded with Marek Jackowski. However, it broke up after the reactivation of Maanam, which bound it with former musicians of Republika in the band Opera, and then Didet Bidet with Zbigniew Hołdys. In 1992 there was a breakthrough – Gawliński formed the Wilki group, which, although it ended its activity after only two years (it resumed it several times later), permanently entered the history of Polish song. The musician returned to school years in 2011 on Eski Rock.

I think a joint concert [gwiazd bez matury – przyp. red] would be one of the better artistic concerts.

– said Michał Figurski. He also enumerated other artists who did not take the final exam. There is no matriculation the leader of Perfect and former collaborator of Gawliński, Zbigniew Hołdys, Edyta Górniak, Agnieszka Chylińska, Maciej Maleńczuk, and from the younger generation – m.in. Kamil Bednarek and Dawid Kwiatkowski.
