The creators of the series used deepfake technology. A modern, but also controversial technique using artificial intelligence allowed to bring back characters that viewers had already said goodbye to. Dariusz Gnatowski died in 2020, Ryszard Kotys in 2021. Thanks to a digital trick, their characters, Marian Paździoch and Arnold Boczek, returned from the afterlife in a special episode of the series. As we learn from the end credits, the faces of the dead actors were superimposed on the living doubles, played by Mariusz Czajka (Paździoch) and Michał Pietrzak (Boczek). What is the 589th episode about? It is entirely dedicated to the coronavirus pandemic. Ferdek does not want to be vaccinated, and the residents of the tenement house at Ćwiartki 3/4 are struggling with the lockdown.
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, Ferdek will also face existential dilemmas. Archangel Gabriel, as well as former residents of the tenement house, Arnold Boczek and Marian Paździoch, will give him invaluable advice in his reflections on life in the afterlife.
The episode was dedicated to the memory of Dariusz Gnatowski and Ryszard Kotys, who were infected with coronavirus before their death. For now, it is available only on the Polsat streaming platform.
