This was explained by police sources Bynes was taken to a nearby police station., where the mental health team determined that she should be placed in psychological custody 5150. This code is used when a person may be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility for evaluation for up to 72 hours. Any law enforcement officer or certain persons authorized by the county government may detain. Three criteria are applied: the individual is assessed as dangerous to himself, dangerous to others or “severely disabled”.

Fortunately, portal sources have confirmed this Bynes does not appear to have been injured during the ordealalthough things could have been a lot worse considering the area they found him in.
Amanda’s close friend also said that she is currently hospitalized and likely you will continue to receive care for several days, extending the psychiatric stay beyond 72 hours.
