Richard Allen is an English drummer known from the hard rock band Def Leppard. The musician is a sensation in his profession, since 1985 he has been playing drums without a left hand. The artist lost a limb after a car accident. Since then, he has been using a special drum kit tailored to his needs on stage.

As reported by the New York Post, 19-year-old Max Edward Hartley lurked behind a pole outside the hotel in Fort Lauderdale, where Allen was resting, and then, seeing the drummer smoking a cigarette, rushed towards him. An Ohio resident who was also vacationing in Florida knocked the artist to the ground. The musician fell to the pavement and hit his head hard against the concrete.
The police report states that the fall left the drummer injured. However, the exact information about the condition of the musician is unknown.
Seeing the incident, a woman ran out of the hotel who wanted to help the star. According to police reports, she too was attacked by Hartley, who knocked her to the ground. The woman wanted to escape from the attacker – she began to crawl back into the building. Hartley, however, was merciless. The teenager beat the victim while she was still on the ground and dragged her by her hair from the hotel lobby onto the sidewalk.

The 19-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident. He also managed to damage several vehicles in a nearby parking lot. The boy was charged with beating two people, he was charged with four criminal offenses and a charge of mistreating an elderly or disabled person.
Drummer Def Leppard rested in Fort Lauderdale before performing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. The band will perform alongside Motley Crue as part of the World Tour 2023. The tour will also have a stop in Poland. Hard rock legends will play on May 31 at Tauron Arena Kraków.
