Foundation is a woman’s best friend. It masks imperfections and perfectly complements it. Incorrectly selected foundation cuts off from the neck, marks the skin and does not look natural. How to choose the right shade for our complexion? Make-up artist suggests.
How to choose a foundation? The make-up artist suggests two ways
A well-chosen foundation perfectly combines with the color of ours and is invisible. Shades should be checked in daylight. Then the color of the product will be the most believable. Make-up artist Natalia Procajło published a video on her Instagram showing how to choose the perfect shade of foundation. Natalia publishes materials under the pseudonym Promaluje. The first way is to make a polka dot on the neck using the foundation of your choice. Make-up is the most consistent when the color of the foundation coincides with the color of our neck. Then you will get the most natural effect. If the dot on the neck perfectly blends with its color, the foundation is well matched.
The second way is to look at your wrist and check the color of your veins. There are three types of skin tone: warm, cool and combination. If the veins fall into shades of green – you have a warm complexion. If they are blue or purple, it means that you have a cool complexion. With this knowledge, it will be easier for you to choose the shade of the foundation.
Perfectly matched foundation. What do the letters on the packaging mean?
Natalia Procajło’s tips may come in handy if you plan to buy foundation online. Products in drugstores are marked with the appropriate letters:
- C – cool (more pink pigments)
- W – warm (more yellow pigments)
- N – neutral, mixed (suitable for people who are comfortable with both cool and warm shades)
The make-up artist’s advice proved helpful. Internet users described their experiences in the comments.
The neckline works perfectly.
Ooooh, I hadn’t heard of checking the color under the veins.
I think it’s important that the foundation doesn’t cut off the neck.
The next time I choose foundations, I will be tempted to check foundations of cold tones.
