Grace Van Dien portrayed Chrissy Cunningham in an episode of the fourth season of Stranger Things. However, viewers may never see this character again, because the actress admitted during her Twitch broadcast that she is currently rejecting all professional offers and plans to focus on streaming games.
Grace Van Dien opened up about sexual harassment
According to “”, during the March 7, 2023 broadcast, the actress revealed that she had turned down four film roles in the past few weeks. She also added that she will no longer be playing the role of Chrissy in “Stranger Things”:
Thing is, some people are angry with me for turning down acting projects and opting for more broadcasting, but the fact is that in the last few projects I’ve worked on, I haven’t had the best experience with some of the people I had to work for
All because of traumatic experiences from film sets. Van Dien confessed that one of the bosses (she did not reveal her name or the name of the production) sexually harassed her:
In one of the last movies I made, one of the producers asked me to… like, he hired a girl he was sleeping with, and then had her ask me to have a threesome with them. It was my boss. I didn’t and I cried, I was very upset. But when people ask, ‘How is streaming better for your mental health?’, that’s the way it is. I’m at home playing video games and my boss doesn’t ask me for sex
Later in the stream, she said she wanted to focus on streaming for now, but would like to return to the world of film on her own terms in the future:
This is where I am happy and develop my own projects. I hope someone decides to fund them, because then I can control my own plan. And I will not ask my actors to sleep with me
Grace Van Dien in the years 2017-2019 played the main role in the Netflix series “Greenhouse Academy”. Most recently, she appeared in the production of “V for Vengeance” and “What Comes Around”, shown at the Toronto Film Festival.
