Flowers bought in a flower shop may need to be tempered, therefore it is worth to put them on the balcony in a sheltered place for a few daysand only then transplant into pots and boxes. Flowers do not have high soil requirements. Although they like fertile, humus-rich soil, a universal substrate or those intended for balcony plants will also work.

Not everyone knows that the flowering of pansies can be prolonged by using fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium. Thanks to this, they will enjoy the eyes of both us and passers-by for much longer. Fading flowers should also be removed regularly.

Although still few people decide to do so, sowing pansies can also be carried out at home, but the optimal date is only June and July. A simple cardboard egg box will be useful for sowing. Be careful not to overdo it with the amount of seeds – one per chamber will be enough. When they emerge (after two or three weeks), give them more space and transplant them into pots or containers. Then you can also take them to the balcony. Water the plants regularly and keep the soil constantly moist. However, it should not be too wet, as this could harm them. When watering, make sure that the water does not come into contact with the leaves, which are often susceptible to diseases.
