The forester alerts that the ticks are already active. Before you go to the forest, put on this product

The coming spring is a time when not only plants come to life. Ticks can be very dangerous not only for people, but also for animals. They are carriers of many diseases, including Lyme disease. A forester from the Tu³owice Forest Inspectorate in the province Opole showed that the first arachnids have already appeared in the forests.

Ticks can be found in forests, meadows and home gardens. It is estimated that every third tick is a disease carrier. How to protect yourself from them? Is there an effective way to scare them away?

Be careful on forest walks. Ticks have woken up

The activity was noticed by a forester from the Opolskie Voivodeship from the Tułowice Forest Inspectorate. It is true that ticks do not hibernate and can be active all year round, but the lower temperature in winter means that they hide in the forest litter to survive until the warmer period. The temperature above zero is a sign for them that they can come to the surface, and the coming spring is a period of increased activity for them. On the social media profile, the forester warned to pay attention to arachnids prowling in the forest.

A little more and the calendar spring will begin, but nature is already waking up to life. Also the less pleasant creatures can already be found in the forest.

How to repel ticks? Home remedies you should know

Ticks also live in our gardens. Plant repellent plants to keep them away. Arachnids do not like:

  • geranium,
  • tansy,
  • lavender,
  • mint,
  • marigolds,
  • onion,
  • sage,
  • rosemary,
  • thyme,
  • horseradish,
  • garlic.

Before a walk in the woods or meadows, it is worth spraying yourself with repellent liquids that will effectively chase away ticks. We can apply essential oil to the skin, e.g. lavender, mint, clove or eucalyptus oil mixed with olive oil or baby oil. Such a mix effectively discourages ticks.
